Useful to know
A few common questions.
Understand the result before making your next move.
What should I check when viewing commercial premises?
Start with the permitted use, full premises costs, condition, utilities, customer access and suitability for your business. Record anything you cannot verify as a question for the landlord, agent or relevant specialist. This checklist helps organise a viewing; it does not inspect the property or confirm legal compliance.
Does the checklist change for my business?
Yes. A cafe gets questions about extraction, kitchen services and waste; a salon about water and treatment areas; a gym about floor loading, noise and changing facilities. Common questions about costs, condition and access remain in every checklist.
Can I use this when buying an existing business?
Yes, for checking the premises and location. It does not assess the asking price, accounts, business valuation, ownership or transfer of a lease. Those need separate checks.
Are my viewing notes saved?
Your notes stay in this open tab. Save the checklist as a text file before leaving or refreshing. No account or email is required, and the checklist does not submit your notes to Locus.
